A barcode identifies an article number rather than a package: manufacturers reuse one across reformulations and package sizes, and the same number appears in more than one family, so several candidates for one barcode is the ordinary case and every one of them is returned. The rows carry what it takes to recognise a candidate and then ask about it properly — who publishes it, what the record calls it, and which tool to call — and nothing else: no panel, no ingredient list, no amount. Two indexes are searched, one for the records that carry a barcode themselves and one for the barcodes the agency annotated onto drug labels, and an index citature has not built is named in the answer's coverage rather than passing for a family the barcode does not reach.
